MODO LTD. were commissioned to conceptualize a renovation around an existing house in the Runda/Karura area. The original house was 260 square meters only and consisted 4 bedrooms, a family room, a kitchen, TV room and dining room.

MODO Ltd. were able to carefully extend the house outward with an additional 320 square meters of built area that included, Balconies overlooking Karura forest, a new master ensuite bedroom, two additional family rooms, full outward extension of all existing bedrooms, a new Gazebo, an extended kitchen with a central island, and Garage extensions.

The renovated aesthetic as seen from the front perspective showcases a contemporary, sleek approach with vertical lines enhanced by decorative coloumns along each edge and a balance between textures in paint and engineered wood. The Back facade maintains the original arches that existed in the outdoor terraces with the new balconies creating a minimalist horizontal streaks.

This renovation is a stellar example of how to extend a home with a large family while maintaining a feeling comfort and intimacy all at once.
